Uhh... College? What?

Wait, what? My best friend is moving to college... tomorrow. Tomorrow?!? How does that happen? I still remember when we were young little first graders and comparing our heights to see who got to use the extra short bathroom sink. And now we're college students? What the heck? I mean, sure, I've got over a month and a half to go still, but that's way soon. And my bffsf..fsf (or something) is moving tomorrow! When did we all get so old? D:

Silly spanish translations.

Lately, I have been translating from {english to spanish} and {spanish to english} a lot. Through this, I have learned that there are lots of very silly phrases that are normal in their original language but are quite silly when translated literally. I will list a few here.

Meter la cuchara {spanish}
- Literally: Stick your spoon in.
-Meant as: Stickin' your nose where it doesn't belong!

Mocosa {spanish}
-Literally: Boogery
-Meant as: Bratty

Codo {spanish}
-Literally: Elbow
-Meant as: Someone who is cheap.

Me caes gordo(a) {spanish}
-Literally: You fall on my fatly.
-Meant as: You annoy me.

Sana, sana, colita de rana. Si no sana ahora, sanara manana. {spanish}
-Literally: Heal, heal, tail of a frog. If it doesn't heal today, it'll heal tomorrow.
-Meant as: Just a silly little rhyme to get little kids to stop crying when they're hurt.

Well, considering I've only been able to think of this many of the course of several months, (actually, I'm sure I've remembered more, but I forget them before I write them into the draft of this, so they're gone.) I'm gonna just end it there and post this. Enjoy!

Sitting in the library... Wondering what to blog about.

So... I'm in the library. With nothing to do except homework, and obviously I'm not gonna do that until the very last second. Zakery, however, is being quite studious over here. What a N00B. Now I am successfully distracting him. BWAHAHAHAHA.

Well, it's been a little while since I last posted, so maybe I should say something about exciting stuff that has occured recently.

1. Prom was last Saturday. It was pretty awesome. Wil wore suspenders. :) They were rad! I got red lipstick on his face. But it was kinda on his hair a little since he wouldn't stop struggling. Who struggles against getting kissed on the cheek by a girl? Really?

2. I took my senior pictures yesterday. I'll probably post my favorite ones on here once my photographer does her magic with them and sends them back and such. It was a blast taking pictures though. The photographer let me goof around a little bit. It was way fun.

3. I'm liking the numbered lists recently.

4. Being sick is AWFUL! I hate having a sore throat, cause you know what? I love being able to swallow food without crying.

5. Zak is making a blog so he can follow me. :) Haha. This distracting stuff is TOTALLY working. Nataly FTW. :D

Au Revoir, Nataly.

This post is of no consequence whatsoever.

I don't really have anything specific to blog about today, but I felt that I have an obligation to my subscribers (I have a whopping six of them. One of those is myself.) to post something from my new laptop that I finally got the guts to buy. He's an HP (which obviously stands for Harry Potter) and his name is Giorgio. He's Italian and likes to wind surf. (Yes, I do personify most of my belongings. For example, my cello; His name is Oliver and his favorite food is Chicken cordon bleu.) This dear laptop of mine has become a great friend in the last 3 1/2 days. We've laughed together; we've cried together. And we will stay up for many more nights together, especially once we reach college.
   I just hope I won't resent him in a few months when I see something way better.

Ciao, Nataly

Quilting, among other things

Let's start with the other things. I promise I will get around to quilting, unless of course, I fall asleep, in which case, this won't be getting posted anyways.

Item one of 'other things':
Preference is TOMORROW. As in, when I go to bed, and wake up some time later, it will be the day of Preference. I'm pretty stoked. Our day date is gonna be rad (I'll have to post the details later. Wil might randomly check my blog and I've decided I'm surprising him.), my dress is green and my makeup is gonna be awesome. Amazingly so. Yeah, I'm pretty siked. Syked? Psyched? Idk.

Item Two:
Tomorrow is also the baptism of some kids in our branch. The primary president asked some of us young women to sing for it. Which means I have to wake up early enough to get to the stake center by nine. I'm excited about the singing, usually they just want me for my cello, but that still doesn't make me great friends with early mornings.

Item Three:
The due date for all late work was today. I kinda like that feeling of, 'well, I tried, and there's nothing I can do now.' This next week is like, the chill week of the quarter. Kinda.

Item Four:
Wil is gonna look HOT tomorrow. My mom and I are both excited to see him.

Item Five:
There is no item five, but I really like having things in sets of fives or tens, so I had to throw this in here.

And finally, Quilting:
As part of one of my projects for my YW recognition award, I am making a quilt. Each square represents a chapter of the BOM along with eight squares representing the YW values. When we started the quilts, I managed to find some old squares of my grandma Nathel's (My dad's mom) that had, for some unknown reason, ended up in my family's possession. I am making my BOM quilt out of these squares, which is really an amazing link to her. But to add to the meaning of this quilt, our Spanish Branch YW have been helping me to make it, which is just awesome. I'm gonna be graduating both school and YW soon, so it'll be nice to have something to remind me of those girls even when I move away. It's amazing how much I care for all of those girls, even though I've only known some of them for no longer than a month. I guess that's the power of the Gospel.

(I really feel like saying 'In the name of Jesus Christ, amen', but I'm not sure how appropriate that is, so instead...)

Hasta la vista, Baby.

Sunglass thievery.

So... I have noticed that recently, I have developed a love for sunglasses. I think it's because I drive now. (Although I may have to rethink this theory, as Wil owns and wears sunglasses, but does not drive at all.) Recently, I have bought three pairs of sunglasses that I love.

They are...

My 'mirrors on your face' glasses:
 The name is pretty dang self-explanatory. They're like mirrors... only you wear them on your face.

 My 'these sunglasses are more like cute safety glasses' glasses:

These really are quite useless as sunglasses. But they're cute so I wear them anyways. Yeah... that's what being a girl is all about. Cute, pointless sunglasses.

   My 'I love these sunglasses more than my cat' glasses:
These are my oldest sunglass friends. They have been with me for longer than any other sunglasses and have helped me block the sun out of my life on countless occasions. Although I don't actually have a cat, I'm pretty sure I would not love it as much as I love these glasses if I did. Sorry Cat.

Now you may be asking yourself, "Nataly, what on earth do all of these sunglasses have to do with thievery? You didn't steal them, did you?!?" No, I did not. My problem is that they are repeatedly stolen by someone who really should not have a need to steal my sunglasses. This person is my mother. She has owned many more pairs of sunglasses than I have over her life, as she has been driving for much longer and therefore had much more of a need for them. Still, she manages to lose her sunglasses CONSTANTLY. She has stolen every single pair of sunglasses that I own at some point in time, causing my irrational fear that she will lose my sunglasses. This must stop! I cannot live in this state of terror. SUNGLASS THIEVERY IS EVIL, PEOPLE!!!

Let's stop it, shall we?

Yeah, that is a winky face. I know it looks like I'm closing both eyes. But I'm not...

 Random side-note: I smell campfire. O.o

To Work or Not to Work...

So, I started a job now. I'm a waitress at a Mexican restaurant (Wil, you can stop laughing now. It's still not funny). And I'm kind of hating it. I mean, I guess I'm figuring it out a little better now, but it's still difficult trying to juggle a job along with school, friends, family, sleep and church. The first week however, was possibly the most difficult of my life. I worked four days in a row, and had to close one day, which meant I stayed at work until almost eleven. That was incredibly difficult for me. But this week feels hopeful. I only work two days and I'm only closing one of those days, which is Wednesday. Wednesday is an EXCELLENT day for closing, since it's so slow. I'll be able to start closing a little bit early and get out of there a little earlier. So maybe I'll survive work now. We'll see. :\

Also, I don't have to be bummed about missing either the football game on Friday or my cousin's quince. I'll be able to make it to both. :D

Vegas Rant

This is my darling cousin Tanya:
She is a mere 14 years old. Granted, she'll be 15 in a month. But you get my point. She is still a very young grasshopper. (BTW, I drew that picture in like half a minute. In real life, she looks much different.)

These are the gaping holes that she has added to her face for some bizarre reason:
I am told they are called 'snake bites'. I have come to the conclusion that it is because they are poisonous to your soul, or something like that. They are plugged up with these little weapon-like semi-circles that look something like this:
Now, last time I checked, stuff that is that vicious is not supposed to be kept in your face. Your face is for talking and eating and the such. Not for miniature weapon storage.

Anyways, the point I'm trying to make is that I miss the innocent little cousin that existed about a year ago. She was cute. She was one of my best friends. I liked her. Now, it feels like there's a stranger living in my aunt's house, and it breaks my heart to see it. Her and her sister are like younger siblings to me. And now I don't even know her. Stupid Vegas is corrupting the little ones. :(

On a totally unrelated note... I saw this guy:
While in Vegas. I kid you not, he was wearing bright pink short shorts with flowers on them. It was possibly the most hilariously disturbing sight that I have ever had the (mis)fortune to encounter. Now, in case you cannot read my small hand-written captions, they read from top to bottom:
1. (Manly) Blue striped button-up shirt?
2. Hot Lady Lips
3. PINK FLOWER SHORTS
4. Knees.

Notice that his knees are much farther away from the bottom of his shorts than any knees have the right to be. It was rather terrifying. As if seeing bare girl legs all weekend wasn't enough, this guy had to join the party. But hey, at least he gave me something to rant about.

Homecoming. :)

So... obviously, I'm a nerd. And Wil is too, so for homecoming, I had to answer him in the nerdiest way possible. I made him a cake that looked like a Pokeball. I have to say, it was pretty epic. Although I can't say it was completely spherical. Hahaha.

Basically, it's the proudest I've ever been of one of my creations.
And yet again... I am a NERD.

I'm a Nerd :D

Hmmm... so today was way too exciting for the lack of stuff that actually happened. We went to McDonald's for lunch and Wil got FIFTY freaking chicken nuggets. lol. It was insane.

And web page design is freaking RAD. I kinda know a little bit of HTML now. I'm so proud of myself! :D Pretty much all of my pages are in rainbow. I made one that was like this...
<HTML>
<BODY>
<BR><FONT COLOR="FF0066">Line</FONT COLOR>
<BR><FONT COLOR="FF9900">Line</FONT COLOR>
<BR><FONT COLOR="FFFF66">Line</FONT COLOR>

Which would look like...

But it should be like this:
<BR><H1><FONT COLOR="FF0066">Line</FONT COLOR>

Stupid font size rules.
So basically yeah... I've been nerding out all day. :/
